Yes, this is a picture of the device I used:
http://imagescl.cyberguys.com/images/prod_main/P17478A.jpgThere are many brands, the one I bought is SIIG "USB 2.0 Video Capture Device, (looks exactly like the picture)" and it comes with software to capture the video -- my computer still doesn't recognize that the camera is connected in "C" drive, but the software, Honestech's "VHS to DVD" captures the video from my camcorder (could also connect a VCR or other peripherals), and has editing functions as well.
Note: In order for it to work for me, I had to first open the software, then connect the USB to the computer, without first connecting the USB to my camera, and then connected the USB's av adapters to the camera's av adapters. Click the icon next to the Capture menu box to select Capture Source: TV, Composite (connection I used) or S Video (still need to use the two av adapters (red & white) to capture audio with the S-Video cord. Switched on camcorder to VTR, press play to view and record/burn.
