I updated to a new lcd 22" screen and installed a new ati x1650 and then i started having problems in games
the fps was horrible and i tried updating to latest drivers, even erasing the old ones with a driver cleaner. Installed the new drivers and still nothing. I then went back to my old graphics card an ati x1600. Earased the drivers and updated to the currect card and still nothing. I ran cclaener and antivir thinking something else was casuing the problems. Then yesterday my computer stoped loading any games and is now super slow. it takes awhile for windows to come up and the internet is also slow, even though on another computer its fine and loads fast.

I ran adaware 2008 and it found no detections.

* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

Still nothing there, so try this: Go into msconfig under the services tab and disable the Ati HotKey Poller. Apply and exit msconfig and restart your computer. Let me know if it's better.

i am now able to load Steam to play counter-strike but that is it. It is at the minimum to run and still is bad. all other games that dont use the steam platform will not load. Its like my computer is just getting slower and slower. I ran hijack again and here is the log:

You're welcome. Let's do a couple of things :

Your Java is way out of date, which leaves your computer vulnerable.

Updating Java

• Download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6_u_10.
• Scroll down to where it says "The J2SE Runtime Environment (JRE) allows end-users to run Java applications".
• Click the "Download" button to the right.
• Check the box that says: "Accept License Agreement".
• The page will refresh.
• Click on the link to download Windows Offline Installation with or without Multi-language and save to your desktop.
• Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
• Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java.
• Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
• Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
• Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each Java versions.
• Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.
• Then from your desktop double-click on jre-6-windows-i586.exe to install the newest version.

Please run HijackThis! and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries, if present:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\UpdReg.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTTask.exe" -atboottime
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe Reader Speed Launcher] "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SoundMan] SOUNDMAN.EXE
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [StartCCC] "C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\CLIStart.exe" MSRun
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MSConfig] C:\WINDOWS\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries\MSConfig.exe /auto
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Steam] "c:\program files\steam\steam.exe" -silent

Close all browsers and other windows except for HijackThis!, and click "Fix checked".

Reboot your computer a time or two and let me know if that helps any. :)
