STOP: 0x00000050 Page_Fault_In_Non-Paged_Area Error After Installing Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Tech Support Guy

Ran memtest for around 25 mins and got no errors.

UBCD4Win boots up fine and doesn't crash when running.

Error was:0x00000050 (0xE2D08EC8, 0x00000000, 0x8081640D, 0x00000002)

It could be the graphics card generating the error the card is 4-5+ years old.

Any other ideas on what it could be?

Currently trying to reinstall winxp with SP3 slipstreamed, which hasn't gone well as the CD has now got a nice crack in it.

Anyone any other thoughts on what can cause this?

It's this mobo
2gb Ram
2800 Athlon
Chachazz
That's what MS says:
"This problem may occur if there is a conflict between Windows XP SP1 and the display adapter drivers that are currently installed."

No ideas here stidyup; good luck; let us know... thumbsup.gif

Thanks I'll have a look later, but I'm suspecting it's the nvidia drivers in SP3 as the graphics card is very old and I know it doesn't like any new nvidia drivers. I may have to wait until I go back to work and borrow a spare graphics card I've got and try that.

Although it could easily be something else.

I'm going to have to wait until I get back to work next week to borrow a graphics card as I suspect it's that causing the problem, the graphics card is at least 6 years old. I've not got another AGP to try it with.

Hi mate

think about a malefunction of the AGP port too. What kinda products do you run (PC vendor, series, model, graphics aapter type etc). Please tell me more details of that box, kay? I'll figure out if I can find some info

Me again Stidy

I remember a similar problem with such a STOP: 0x00000050 Page_Fault_In_Non-Paged_Area fault few weeks ago. It was one RAM module which caused that crash. Did add another 512mb PC-2700 RAM stick to the already mounted one. After a restart the box did crash run for ~20 mins before it crashed. Changed the all modules mounting only those of the same vendor and it does work.

Got windows installed finally borrowed a graphics card yesterday as I was driving past.

It didn't install first time it took several attempts and had to load basic bios defaults, not sure if someone has been messing with the bios, but once I've reset it windows installed fine.

Will run it for a few days with the graphics card I've borrowed before I get a new one, I've ran memtest on the ram and got no errors so I think the memory is fine. However if it generates any more stop errors I'll have to test the memory again.
