Hi,

I have just purchased a new laptop (ASUS notebook F3SC-AP275C 15.4" T7250, 160 GB) with pre-installed Vista OEM software.

Trying to find a way to install XP Pro instead, but run out of options.

Can anyone give me step-by-step instructions how to accomplish this? (I have two XP discs, one is an image disc XP Pro SP2 Corp, the other is a standard Windows XP pro)

thanks upfront, greets Mike.

I've read the article, and it doesn't sound good at all. As I don't know much about installing PC's, I'll either need a very exact step-by-step set of instructions, or I'll have to get it done professionally. Either way it's not going to be a fast job.

If anyone is willing to write a step-by-step, that would be great.

Backup your valuable data and installers to another location and do a fresh install of XP.

Have your Vista OEM product key/license key handy and ring up Microsoft and advise them you want to 'transfer' (downgrade) your Vista registration to XP.

And, let us know how you make out Mike!

...if you feel more confident calling them first to check it out, do so.
