Hi INS0MNIA
Seems you've enough "problems" with your hardware *g*
Kay lemme pick up ya request here. There're some unwritten "laws" saying
1. Optimal size of virtual memory
Amount of mounted RAM [mb] x 1,5 = Size of virtual memory [MB]2. Determining the Windows swap file onto a fixed size instead of "System managed size" or using the Windopws default settings (like in your example)
In that case I have my 1 GB RAM systems running at:
Initial Size (=IS) 2000 MB
Maximum Size (=MS) 2000 MB
Frankly said these settings depend on what you're running with that system. If you're in office applications, well a size of 768 MB for IS and MS are enough. When you are on games... than it's better to buy more RAM cause enlarging that swap file needs fast HDDs to do its job. A larger RAM does the same "swapping" much faster cause it must not move any mechanical items <WINK>
